Chronic Disease is Caused By Inflammation & Stress!

The reason I am posting today is because it’s becoming more clear every day that almost every health problem I am presented with are due to:

  1. inflammation,

  2. the stress (oxidative stress) that inflammation puts on your body

  3. how your immune system responds to that in the short and long term

These three processes are the keys to:

  1. how people feel, behave

  2. interact with their friends, family, environment

  3. work

  4. sleep

  5. fail

  6. succeed

  7. live their life

Everything from what we put in our body, to what touches our skin, to what we breath and how an individual body is wired to respond to this exposure dictates whether people will suffer chronically or live a great life.

When my clients tell me:

  1. I am exhausted

  2. I have no energy to play with my kids/grandkids when I get home from work

  3. I am overweight and can’t lose weight even when I force myself to exercise strenuously or go on an extreme diet

  4. I am in pain for days after exercising and get frustrated when my hard work is not reflected on the scale

  5. I feel uncomfortable in my clothes when I go out with my friends

  6. I starve myself before going out with my friends so I can fit in my clothes and feel worse the next day after binging on food and having a few drinks

  7. I get short of breath when I tie my shoes

  8. I get short of breath when I carry a bag of groceries from the car to the house

  9. I feel like I don’t want to be intimate with my partner because I’m uncomfortable with my body

  10. I am having hot flashes and I can’t lose weight

  11. I just have to live with the way I feel

  12. I am on medications forever and won’t be able to get off them

  13. Bloated for hours after meals

  14. I get diarrhea or constipation

  15. I am pre-diabetic

These are all signs and symptoms of inflammation from:

  1. Toxins to which you may not be aware you are exposed

  2. Foods certain individuals should be avoiding

  3. Nutrients certain individuals are lacking or cannot process because they are not genetically programmed to process them

  4. Prior trauma from sports injuries, accidents, surgeries

  5. Inherited genetic problems

Inflammation is the body’s normal response to defend against foreign invasion and repair injury. When this response is excessive or persistent and not squashed or squelched by your immune system…this is what leads to chronic disease.

As a cardiologist for over 27 years, I have found that conventional medicine can temporarily help control these processes but physicians in conventional medicine are poorly equipped when it comes to getting at the root cause of the three processes that can lead to chronic disease.

So when you feel:

  1. tired or fatigued

  2. have shortness of breath or chest pain

  3. feel bloated

  4. have hot flashes/mood swings

  5. sleep poorly

  6. feel uncomfortable with yourself

These may be signs of inflammation, which if not controlled can lead to chronic illnesses.

Functional medicine is the solution to this problem.

We can design personalized comprehensive health plans. We perform genetic testing and have tools that take the guesswork out of what food and nutrient plan you should be on and the exercise plan you should follow. This is what is needed to achieve optimal health and happiness.

Our 4 step programs are for committed and coachable people who are looking to transform their lives.

So, if you want to live your life to the fullest, have more energy than your kids when you get home from work, look forward to socializing with your friends and family, or just feel great, then schedule a call and see if our 12-16 week program is for you.
